RECTIFICATION OF CIVIL RECORDS

The rectification of civil status documents transcribed at the consulate can only take place by order of the court of Sidi M'Hamed in Algiers, the only Algerian court authorized to rectify the documents in question (Art. n° 108 of ordinance 70-20 of 19-02-1970).

The components of the file are:

• A handwritten request for rectification addressed to the court of Sidi M'Hamed (Algiers);
• An Algerian identity document;
• The transcribed act bearing the error in Arabic;
• The civil status certificate issued by the town hall, translated into Arabic;
• The marriage certificate or the family file of the parents.

Important :

The request for rectification must be submitted by the person concerned or by a third person authorized by power of attorney established by the diplomatic or consular representations.
